Community Engagement & Communication



Current College Initiatives:

  • JJC is the first CUNY College to have a sustainability based student club, The Environmental Club.
  • The Environmental Club has been participating with the Sustainability Council consistently since 2007.
  • Students  from the Environmental Club have an active involvement in Town Hall Meetings, addressing community concerns.


Initiatives Planned:

  • There is one student in each sustainability committee.
  • The Environmental Club will be having a Green Content, which is a $1,000 provided by CUNY.
  • Encourage more participation by Student Affairs.
  • The website is being updated to reflect all current information on JJC Green and the Sustainability Council.
