Welcome Parents and Family Members!
We are excited that you are joining the John Jay family in the coming months. As the support network for your students, you play an important role in helping us develop a strong and reassuring environment that will ensure your students' success. We invite you to join your student on the day of their Freshmen or Transfer Orientation. We offer a unique and exciting Family Orientation program that occurs on the same date and times as our undergraduate student orientation sessions. Our staff and faculty can assist you and your family in making a smooth transition into the John Jay College Community.
To stay informed about next steps after your students' acceptance to the college, students should periodically check their e-mail for communications from the college. After students attend their Academic Advising session through the Academic Advisement Office, students will be sent an e-mail invitation for Orientation where they will be able to RSVP to an Orientation date that works with their schedule. Due to space restrictions we cannot accept walk-ins. To setup their John Jay e-mail address students can find more information here: http://www.jjay.cuny.edu/academics/1363.php
As a family member of a John Jay student, we invite you to stay active with our campus community and join our Family Association. By signing up, you will get access to our monthly e-newsletter, The Bloodhound Bulletin. John Jay is proud of our community of parents and family members who are engaged and excited about their student’s experience. We understand the need for connection and communication with campus offices, which is why all family members of undergraduate students are members of the John Jay College’s Family Association.
It is our goal to make your John Jay experience both useful and memorable. We strive to offer the highest level of support and commitment to students. If there is any way the Office of Student Transition Programs can assist you, please feel free to contact us at 646.557.4888.
We look forward to seeing you on campus!
