Welcome to the homepage of John Jay College’s Office of Legal Counsel (OLC). Under the leadership of Assistant Vice President and Counsel Marjorie Singer, OLC provides legal advice and guidance to college officials on a wide range of matters affecting John Jay College and its related entities including contracts, labor issues, ethics, requests for information, college governance, policy formulation and compliance, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. OLC is also responsible for labor relations and represents the College in grievance and disciplinary proceedings. In addition, OLC oversees compliance with non-discrimination laws and policies and conducts investigations of complaints by faculty, staff and students alleging discrimination, sexual harassment and sexual assault.
