Consultation Services for In-Service Students

Students who attend John Jay and are employed in law enforcement and other related career fields (correction officers, police officers, fire fighters, etc.) have unique needs with respect to their admission, transition to, and graduation from the college. There are academic policies and rules specifically designed to insure and support the success of in-service students. If you are one of these students, there are counselors within the Counseling Department trained to assist you in making any possible academic adjustments to further your academic progress while in attendance. The Counseling Department provides this specialized consultation service to all in-service students.

Due to the specialized benefits in terms of admission and graduation requirements for members of the New York City Police Department (NYPD), New York City Fire Department (FDNY), and New York City Department of Corrections (NYCDOC), meeting with an in-service counselor is essential. Please call the Counseling Department at (212)237-8111 to schedule an appointment with one of the following professionals:

Professor Robert DeLucia: Coordinator/Counselor for In-Service Consultation Program

Professor Heather Holtman: Counselor

Professor Joel Roscow: Counselor

Professor Felice Shoot: Counselor
