Josephine Pujols

Josephine Pujols

Degree: B.S. and M.A. in Criminal Justice, currently working on my Masters in Public Administration.
Job Title: Admissions Counselor
Recruiting Territory: The 5 boroughs and NJ
In-house specialties: Coordinate Campus Tours

Favorite Spot on Campus: The Jay Walk!
Favorite place to eat near campus: The Greek Kitchen.
Why choose John Jay College of Criminal Justice: John Jay is more than a criminal justice college. Community Outreach programs, student clubs and student oriented activities help students understand the importance of being a strong individual and leaders of tomorrow. Plus, the show Law and Order is filmed on campus!
Hindsight tip: The two key words you must remember – “Apply Early”. You want to give yourself as many choices as possible. Find a college that suits you the best.
If I could have coffee with anyone in the world, living or deceased, it would be: Maya Angelou, just to hear the stories that made her a global renaissance woman.
Favorite quote: “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader”. -John Quincy Adams
Favorite invention: The Camera (captures a photo that has a million stories behind it).
When I am not at work, I am: Taking courses in American Sign Language and watching my favorite shows on HGTV (I am secretly an interior designer at heart).
How did I get into higher education? Began working for the President of the Faculty Senate here at John Jay College and transitioned into the Office of Admissions.
What would I be if you weren’t an admissions counselor? A lawyer!
Best advice I ever received: My father taught me at an early age that life always seems to throw you a curve ball and it's up to you how to catch it.
