Office of International Studies & Programs

Welcome to the Office of International Studies & Programs

The Office of International Studies & Programs (OISP) is home to the Study-Abroad Programs and facilitates campus internationalization through research, partnerships, and cooperative projects around the globe.  The OISP serves as John Jay College's primary resource for students seeking significant academic experiences abroad during their college careers. Moreover, the OISP partners with faculty in every department at the College to develop innovative programs that provide students of all disciplines with valuable international experiences.

The Office of International Studies and Programs enhances the educational experience of our students to create global citizens with an awareness of the world around them and creates multidimensional partnerships with international institutions to facilitate the free exchange of scholarship, practices and ideas across borders.
In order to achieve its mission, the Office of International Studies and Programs:

  • Designs, implements and assesses justice focused study abroad programs.
  • Facilitates college sponsored research for faculty and students by identifying strategic partners outside the US.
  • In keeping with the College’s mission, works with faculty to promote their expertise through technical assistance programs to governments overseas in policing and other criminal justice areas.
  • Serves as staff to the International Advisory Board, which makes recommendations to internationalize the campus in order to promote justice-focused leadership, empathy, and intellectual curiosity.

The Office of International Studies and Programs is committed and uniquely positioned to contribute to the creation of just societies around the globe.
