The Connecting Classroom to Community program is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors. John Jay students who have completed their freshman year and are enrolled in a course taught by a participating faculty member can enroll in service learning and receive partial course credit. For a list of courses that are currently incorporating the Connecting Classroom to Community program, click here.
Students engage in at least 20 hours of service at one of the approved community sites and may be required to complete one or more written assignments. The number of required service hours and related assignments are determined by the instructor. Placements are arranged at the beginning of each semester.
