Message from the President
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff of John Jay College:
I am pleased to write to you to provide details regarding the graduation ceremonies that we are planning for our students who will receive their degrees this academic year. It is hard to believe, but we are rapidly approaching the end of the school year and the celebrations that mark the awarding of degrees to our students.
Our 2009 Graduation will be held on Thursday, May 28th at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden. There will be two graduation ceremonies- one held in the morning and the second held in the afternoon – duplicating the successful ceremonies held last year.
10:30 am Ceremony: Students receiving degrees in Computer Information Systems, Criminology, Deviant Behavior, Government, International Criminal Justice, Judicial Studies, Justice Studies, Forensic Psychology, Forensic Computing, Forensic Mental Health Counseling, Legal Studies and Dispute Resolution Certificate.
3:30 pm Ceremony: Students receiving degrees in Forensic Science, Correctional Administration, Correctional Studies, Criminal Justice, Criminal Justice Administration and Planning, Fire Science, Police Studies, Public Administration, Protection Management, and Security Management.
We will provide four tickets for each graduating student so that family members and friends can participate in this festive ceremony.
In the coming weeks, we will be furnishing you with more details on Graduation. Please mark May 28th on your calendars and begin making plans for this important ceremony.
Please refer any questions, or concerns, regarding the details mentioned above to Dean Wayne Edwards, either in his office 3121N, or by phone at 212-237-8100.
For my part, I look forward to this festive celebration and to shaking the hands of each of our graduates as they walk across the stage of the Theatre at Madison Square Garden.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Travis
