As a student in the College Now Program, our goal is to provide you with information to facilitate your future decisions about the College Now Program in general, the City University of New York, John Jay College of Criminal Justice and the college process. The college process can often times be overwhelming for both students and parents.  Certainly, families have many questions, concerns and fears that are associated with this process.  As a result, we have added some links that we thought students and parents can visit in preparation for college which may alleviate some of these apprehensions. 


College Now
College Now is a free program designed to prepare New York City's public high school students for college.  College Now offers many activities and opportunities such as academic courses (both for high school and college credit) and exclusive scholarship offers.  As a College Now student, students can also participate in the Model New York City Council Project.  The Model New York City Council Project gives NYC high school students an opportunity to step into the shoes of a New York City Councilperson and experience city government from the inside http://collegenow.cuny.edu/courses_events/events/modelcity/.


College Boards
The College Boards website provides an array of information for students and parentsFor example, some questions students and parents may face are: is college for me, how do you prepare for college, how do I decide on the college to attend, how do I apply for college, how do I pay for college etc.  The College Boards will provide information that you assist in making decisions in this process.


The City University of New York—CUNY
The City University of New York is the nation's largest urban public university and is comprises of 11 senior colleges, six community colleges, the William E. Macaulay Honors College at CUNY, the Graduate School and University Center, the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, the CUNY School of Law, the CUNY School of Professional Studies and the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education. The University offers online baccalaureate degrees through the School of Professional Studies and individualized baccalaureate degrees through the CUNY Baccalaureate Degree. The University Teacher Academy provides free tuition for highly motivated mathematics and science majors who seek teaching careers in the city.
