FYE Extension Program for the CUNY Assessment Test in Mathematics
What is the Extension Program?
The program is a tuition-free, three-week intensive that combines classroom instruction, tutoring, and on-line work. It prepares you to take either the CUNY Assessment Test in Mathematics (part 1 or part 2) or in Writing at the end of June.
Is the Extension Program for me?
If you are taking or have taken MATH 100 or MATH 103 and still need to pass the CUNY Assessment Test in Mathematics, you are eligible to apply for the Extension Program.
When is the Extension Program offered?
Dates: June 4–22, 2012
Times: 9:00 am –12:30 pm
How do I sign up?
Sign up online or in person (room 100W, Westport) beginning April 16, 2012. We will continue to accept applications until May 25 or until we run out of space, so sign up early! Don't wait until after finals. If you pass your CAT in May, we will automatically remove you from the program.
What if I am in the SEEK program?
If you are a SEEK student, contact the SEEK Department to find out what the best program for you is. SEEK students are welcome in the FYE Extension Program with written approval of the SEEK Department.
What happens after I pass the CUNY Assessment Test?
Your most recent grade of 'R' in MATH 100 or MATH 103 will be changed to a 'P,' and you will be able to register for the next required course.
Are there tutoring services available?
Tutoring services are available to you during the Extension Program. We encourage you to use the tutoring resources even before you start the program. For contact information, see the list of tutoring centers.
