About Us
In Students' Words
"I got to have less stress over the fall semester and more time to complete my homework and excel in other classes."
"This course allowed me to learn how to write a good college essay. I was able to make friends and know my way around school before fall started."
"I felt that the time I had with the professor over the summer was extremely helpful."
What is Early Start?
Early Start courses are a great way for new students to get a head start on their classes and meet faculty, staff, and other students before the fall semester starts.
What Early Start courses are offered?
Early Start English satisfies your first-semester English requirement. You will develop the skills in reading, writing, and research that you will need to succeed in college. You will complete the course work over the summer and get credit for it in the fall.
Early Start Math satisfies your general education math requirements. You will complete MAT 104 over the summer and MAT 108 in the fall. You’ll be done with your gen. ed. Math requirements by the end of your first semester!
When is Early Start offered?
The program runs from July 9 to August 9, 2012. Classes meet Monday through Thursday in the morning.
Why take Early Start courses?
■ concentrate on one course at a time
■ enjoy a smaller class size
■ meet people and get connected
■ receive more support from your instructor
■ lighten your fall course load or get more credits
■ take part in field trips and fun activities
