I am a proud graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice!! I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Criminology on May 2012. I started my journey at John Jay College on August 2008, where I rapidly became involved in students’ academic success. I started working for the Office of the Registrar that September as a work-study student. I later went on to join the Office of Student Affairs (formerly known as the Office of Student Development) as a Peer Ambassador. I proudly joined the Academic Advisement Center as a Peer Advisor mid into my undergraduate studies at John Jay. As a Peer Advisor I worked closely with entering and continuing freshman and provided them with accurate information and assistance regarding the curriculum, graduation requirements, college policies and procedures.

Through these opportunities I quickly realized my passion to work with students and provide academic assistance. This passion motivated me to further my education and, beginning this Fall, I will be pursuing a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration at Baruch College. Now I rejoin the Academic Advisement team as an Academic Advisor and I am excited to continue aiding John Jay students in their academic success.

As I supported students’ academic success I also made sure to acquire my own. As an undergraduate I completed a summer internship with John Jay College at the district attorney’s office of the Dominican Republic. I had the opportunity to study abroad at Genoa Italy and also form part of the CUNY Ernesto Malave Leadership Academy. John Jay College afforded me these great opportunities, but it took dedication to my academics to acquire them. I encourage you all to seek all the wonderful resources the college has to offer!!
