Sophomore experience is a unique yet integral part of the students' academic journey at John Jay. The sophomore experience programs and events are designed to help sophomores chart their academic and career path toward personal growth.

Sophomore Express is a series of workshops co-led by John Jay faculty, staff, and peer mentors. Rising sophomores explore special opportunities in research, scholarships, and internships, and receive support with their application. By the end of the series, each student will have connected to a special opportunity program that they'll be working on in their sophomore year.

Sophomore Signature Courses are themed around engaging topics and the academic and career goals of sophomores. The professors teaching these courses are recognized experts in their fields and supportive of their students. See flyer to learn more about the courses and professors.

CUNY Service Corps: Paid Service Learning gives selected students, faculty, and staff at John Jay the opportunity to work on service projects in community partner locations across the city. Go to page to learn more and apply.
