Jusdon Simmons

Judson SimmonsI graduated from the University of Houston with a BA in English, and hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York.  A few years after graduating from Sarah Lawrence College, I moved back to Texas and began my higher education career as a Program Coordinator for a First-Year Experience Program at my alma mater, the University of Houston.  After working there for just over three years, I moved back to New York and began attending Baruch College’s MSEd. program in Higher Education Administration.  In December of 2012, I graduated from Baruch College, and in April began working here at John Jay College.

My passion for working with students stems from my own experiences as both a student and staff member at the University of Houston.  At a large institution, like the University of Houston, it’s easy for a student to get lost in the shuffle.  That’s why each student I advise receives the individual attention they deserve.  And while I will never truly know the answer to every question asked, I will always strive to assist the students I see with finding the answer.
