Welcome to John Jay and congratulations on choosing higher education; the college experience will certainly change your life. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. I also hold a Master of Science in Education with a concentration in Special Education from Dowling College. I am in the beginning phases of writing my dissertation for a doctorate in Higher Education Administration from SUNY Albany, so I truly understand how overwhelming educational challenges can seem.

Before I started working in Higher Education, I spent eight years in K-12 public schools teaching elementary school general music and chorus on Long Island and high school Mathematics in Boston. While in Boston, I was hired to teach a Mathematics course as an adjunct faculty member at Boston Architectural College. It was then that I got hooked on working with adult learners and I quickly took steps to transition my career to the college setting. Before coming to John Jay, I worked as a Freshman Learning Academy coordinator at Borough of Manhattan Community College in Tribeca and as Retention Coordinator at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie.

I have a passion for helping students feel empowered to make success-driven academic decisions and I find my job most fulfilling when I see my students start to make those decisions independently. Again, congratulations on choosing college and I look forward to meeting you soon.
