Yahya H. Affinnih received his PhD in Sociology from New York University, New York City. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of African American Studies at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, The City University of New York (CUNY). His research interests include: sociological theory of power, theory of alienation, social stratification, sociology of labor or work, complex organizations and research methods. His current research interest focuses on substance abuse, use and misuse and its implications for health, social, economic, political, criminal justice, and drug policy in Africa.
