Student Emergency Fund provides metro-cards, food vouchers, emergency housing assistance, medical care, and other assistance for crisis situations that can too often interfere with a student's ability to remain in and succeed at John Jay. With the ever-rising cost of living, many of our students are faced with food insecurity and the threat of homelessness, have the added burden of working to help support their family, or are the main caregiver of a loved one. Imagine missing a final exam because you didn't have subway fare; or managing to get to the exam, but not being able to concentrate because you hadn't eaten since the day before. We cannot let that happen!
The John Jay 2020 Scholarship Fund provides donors an opportunity to have a big impact on student success by making any sized gift, large or small, to the pooled fund. With a goal of raising $5 million in new scholarships for students by December 2020, you can be a part of this bold vision to support our striving students from acceptance through to graduation.
