Coordinator of Fire Safety & Alarm Systems in Homeless Shelters (F-80)
As of July 1, 2013 The Fire Science Institute at John Jay College of Criminal Justice was approved to instruct the new F-80 course. Beginning August 1, 2013, the F-80 CoF will replace the F-24 CoF. All current holders of the F-24 will have to surrender that CoF by July 31, 2014. Individuals who get certified for the new F-80 CoF will be exempt from having to obtain a separate S-95 CoF for Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems and Other Related Systems. This exemption is for the F-80 only. The FDNY has issued an approved manual that covers all pertinent topics necessary for students to be prepared for written exam at John Jay College. Emergency Procedures, Fire Alarm Systems, Emergency Preparedness Plan, Sprinkler and Standpipe Systems, Recordkeeping, and many important areas will be discussed for the safety of the shelter and its guests. Upon successfully completing written exam (70%) a completion letter will be issued to the student to take the CBT at FDNY Headquarters along with other required documentation. Once the student passes the FDNY exam and all requirements are met, a F-80 CoF will be issued.
Cost including manual: $150.00
