The Center on Race, Crime and Justice encourages all members of the John Jay Community to acknowledge, address, and work towards positive change in matters related to race/ethnicity, crime, law, social/criminal justice and human relations, in general. To that end, proposals for presentation of research, dialogues, book talks, workshops, colloquia, symposiums, film series, and discussions directed toward the development of research agendas (but not limited to these) are being solicited.

The projects may be designed to address these issues within the College (e.g. as relates to curriculum, social climate, interactions between administration, faculty, staff, and students, and assessing and addressing the needs of all members of a diverse college community). Or, the projects may have a broader local, state, national or international focus.

If you have any project in mind that is designed to enhance the understanding of race/ethnicity as it relates to issues of justice at the micro- or macro-social level, please forward that information to the attention of the Interim Director via email: djonesbr@jjay.cuny.edu or by hard copy to Dr. Delores Jones-Brown at the Department of Law and Police Science, Room 422T.

Proposals should include:
- Your name and title
- Departmental affiliation
- Email address and campus telephone extension
- Alternate means of reaching you when not on campus (optional)
- Type of project: (e.g. research presentation, workshop, better teaching seminar, etc.)
- Project Description: (including: Topic: Presenters: Narrative: (detailing the activities, goals, objectives, etc.)
- Relevance of topic to the mission of the Center: (see website for mission statement)
- Potential Sponsors or Co-Sponsors:
- Potential date of presentation: (e.g. Spring or Fall semester and the year (07, 08, 09, etc.)
- Intended audience:

Note: There is a keen desire to include, within Center activities, members or organizations from the wider lay and criminal justice communities. Proposals for projects that are designed to draw in a wide audience including students, faculty, staff, community members and/or organizations, researchers, practitioners, legislators and concerned others will receive special attention and consideration.
