Peer Counseling Program

This program was developed by faculty in
the Counseling Department to provide additional support services for students who may appreciate having the option of discussing concerns with other students as well as having access to professional counselors. Peer Counselors are trained and supervised in providing the following services: mentoring of first year students; assistance to transfer, read mission and returning students in readjusting to the college environment; educating students about college rules and regulations, academic requirements, and college services; serving as role models to help students learn appropriate behaviors within the college environment; and delivering workshops to reach out to students who may be experiencing personal or academic difficulties. Students who want to talk with a Peer Advisor should visit the Counseling Information Office in room 3140N or call (212) 237-8111 to schedule an appointment.
