Students who successfully complete their Associate's degree at the community college, in the three majors listed below, can transition to John Jay through the CUNY Justice Academy to complete their Bachelor's degree.

Criminal Justice

The Criminal Justice major provides you with opportunities to study many facets of the criminal justice system. If you are planning to attend graduate or professional school or pursue a career in law enforcement, judicial or correctional agencies, this major is for you. Successful completion of this program will lead to admission into John Jay's BA in Criminal Justice program.

Forensic Science

The major in Forensic Science provides academic and professional training for work in forensic science laboratories. If you are planning to pursue a career as a research scientist, teacher or medical professional, this major is designed for you. At the associate degree level (years 1 and 2), the coursework is strongly focused on basic foundations in chemistry, biology, physics and calculus-level mathematics. Successful completion of this program will lead to admission into John Jay's BS in Forensic Science program.

Fraud Examination and Financial Forensics

The major in Fraud Examination and Financial Forensics (FEFF) combines coursework in accounting with training in the tools and techniques used to detect and prevent fraud. The first half of the program leads to an A.S. in Forensic Accounting. Successful completion of this program will lead to admission into John Jay's B.S. in Fraud Examination and Financial Forensics. If you are interested in a career in the anti-fraud community, whether in the private sector or with government, this program can give you unique marketability to employers.

Computer Science and Information Security

The major in Computer Science and Information Security offers the computing, quantitative and analytical expertise public and private organizations need to advance the practice of digital forensics and cybersecurity. The program provides the broad background in computing that is needed to thwart the abuse and misuse of computers, data networks, information systems and information infrastructures, in the environment of ever advancing digital technology. The courses in the Computer Science and Information Security major prepare students for direct entry into the profession as well as entry into graduate and professional programs that rely on computing and quantitative methods, especially in areas related to digital forensics and cybersecurity

Human Services and Community Justice

The Human Services and Community Justice (HSCJ) major examines issues of social, racial, and economic injustice, and the challenges encountered by diverse and underserved populations in society.  Through its multi-disciplinary course work and experiential learning opportunities, students become self-reflective, competent and compassionate counselors, human services professionals, advocates, community leaders, and change makers.  The major emphasizes cultivating strong interpersonal skills, ethical and cultural competencies, problem-solving analysis, and professional helping proficiencies essential for human services practice.
