Welcome LEAPERS! 

Experiential learning opportunities, such as internships and on-campus leadership roles, provide hands-on experience in an area of interest and help you build essential skills. As part of these experiences, you'll be able to develop practical skills such as public speaking and project management. With other experiences, you'll be able to apply theoretical information you acquire in your coursework to real-life situations.

1.) Internship: Multimedia Intern Spring 2021
Description: This role consists of performing a wide range of multimedia support functions to assist the Multimedia Manager, such as video production and editing and/or coordination of instructional/in-house broadcasts. Additionally, the assistant will aid in the development or preparation of presentation materials, as well as performing a range of administrative support and clerical functions.

2.) Intership: PR Assistant Internship Spring 2021
Description: This role consists of assisting the Public Relations Associate/Coordinator with any job responsibilities, including aiding with activities in Public Relations within the organization. Additionally, the assistant will need to develop relations associated with press releases, and utilizing multi-media outlets to its fullest extent, and assist meetings as needed.

Internship: Research Intern (Undergraduate Summer 2021)
Description: Alger Interns learn the fundamentals of investing by working on various projects for Senior Analysts and Portfolio Managers within multiple industries. You will gain experience in building financial models, analyzing third party surveys and valuing companies. Internship: APAICS 2021-2022 Congressional Fellowship
Description: The APAICS Congressional Fellowship is designed for young AAPI professionals looking to increase their experience in public policy and service. The full-time, paid, 9-month program, places fellows in congressional offices to gain policy experience serving as part of the legislative team. The program provides fellows with opportunities to build their leadership skills, encourages political engagement, and fosters interest in a public service career.

Congressman Adriano Espaillat 

Description: The internships offer current undergraduate or graduate students the ability to gain invaluable work experience along with course credit for their work. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' hectic course schedules, but generally run during office hours Monday to Friday, 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. District interns will witness the day-to-day delivery of services to constituents and other field activities that are essential to Congressman's work in Congress. Responsibilities vary but will include research for constituents, assisting with Congressional events, answering phones, writing letters and other general office duties. Spanish language skills are helpful.

The Office of Science/U.S. Department of Energy

Internship: 2021 Summer Term Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI)

Description: The Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) program places students from 2 and 4 year undergraduate institutions as paid interns in science and engineering research activities at DOE national laboratories and facilities, working with laboratory staff scientists and engineers on projects related to ongoing research programs. Appointments are for 10 weeks during the Summer term, are open to US Citizens and US Lawful Permanent Residents, include a weekly stipend, reimbursement for one round trip domestic travel to the participant’s host DOE laboratory, and possibilities for a housing allowance. More than 850 internships are sponsored annually.
