Bio

I am an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of History at John Jay, where I have been teaching since 2011.  I have a B.A. in Classics from Columbia and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Classics from the University of Chicago.  My dissertation was on violence and criminality in the ancient Roman world.  At John Jay I teach classes on ancient history, including The Ancient World (History 203), Religions of the Ancient World (History 366), and Ancient Technology (History 131: Topics in the History of Science, Medicine, and Technology).
