Erica King-Toler is an Assistant Professor in the SEEK Department at John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY). She teaches courses in social justice and education with an emphasis on developing culturally competent practitioners. She is a licensed cross-cultural psychologist and has worked training law enforcement officers, mental health providers, and medical professionals to consider the impact of race, class, culture, and gender on the work they do with consumers of their services. She is affiliated with the American Psychological Association and the NY Association of Black Psychologists. She addresses audiences about the impact of educational inequalities on children of color, health disparities, and the importance of maintaining good mental health in everyday living. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
