Bio

 In nearly four decades on the John Jay faculty Professor Collins taught literally thousands of students including the largest communications skills class ever offered consisting of eleven hundred  NYPD Sergeants.  
 Prof. Collins was privileged to successfully serve as Chair for four Academic Departments: (1) Communication and Theatre Arts, (2) Art Music and Philosophy, (3) History and (4) Law, Police Science and Criminal Justice Administration. 
 
 As developer and original host of John Jay and CUNY TV's long running television program, Criminal Justice Matters. Prof. Collins interviewed scores of newsmakers and opinion leaders in Criminal Justice and related fields including Mayors Edward Koch, David Dinkins and Rudolph Giuliani, Police Commissioners William Bratton, Patrick Murphy and Benjamin Ward as well as such important figures as  New York County District Attorney Robert Morgenthau, Bronx District Attorney Robert Johnston, Prosecutor/ Author Linda Fairstein and John Jay President Jeremy Travis.
 
 Professor Collins is also the award winning author of two books, Speak with Power and Confidence and Negotiate to Win! (Sterling Publishers, 2009) with both books published internationally in several languages.
 
 In addition to his work as an educator Prof. Collins has and continues to serve as a media and communications consultant to corporations and government agencies worldwide presenting lectures and workshops throughout the United States and in Asia, Europe, Scandinavia, and South America.
