Patricia Franz holds a BA cum laude in Art History from Vassar College and a PhD in History from the City University of New York with a certificate in Renaissance Studies. Her dissertation, The Horseman as a Work of Art: Construction of Elite Identities in Early Modern Europe, 1550-1700, reflects her particular interest in power relations and strategies as manifested through culture.
