Edward M. Hanlon earned his BA in English Literature and Writing from Saint Edward's University, Austin, Texas, his MA in Modern European History from Fordham University and his MPhil in Military History from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, specializing in the Pacific area of operations during the Second World War. A veteran of the United States Army, he has seen service in many parts of the world. He has published several articles on modern military innovations in military newsletters. He has also presented papers on British military operations in North America during the American Revolution and recently gave a paper titled, "Eagles Over the Solomons: Japanese Naval Aviation and the Solomons Campaign." His current research project is on the use of chemical weapons by the Imperial Japanese Army during its campaign in China during the Pacific War.
