A committed educator, Professor Joseph O'Brien has developed a website (web.jjay.cuny.edu/jobrien/) to enhance student learning in the History of Civilization courses he regularly teaches. The site provides students with a range of information from advice on effective study habits to a collection of historical source documents to augment course topics. His research interests include: modern Irish history; Anglo-Irish relations; and modern Europe. His major publications are William O’Brien and the Course of Irish Politics, 1881-1918 and “Dear, Dirty Dublin”: A City in Distress, 1899-1916 (both from the University of California Press).
