Screenshot of John Jay College's website homepageThe Web Services team, part of the Marketing and Communications department, uses web and digital media to communicate effectively with the College’s key constituencies, including current and prospective students and their parents, faculty, staff, alumni, media and the outside community.  The team’s responsibilities include:

  • Manage the public facing John Jay Website which includes updates, maintenance, page creation, SEO, Analytics, etc.
  • Create and maintain databases, archives and other content associated with electronic media projects
  • Maintain CMS workflow, versioning, custom content types for serving information via the web and offer face-to-face classroom CMS training 
  • Manage the 300 plus users on the JJC CMS system as well as hundreds of faculty with faculty profile pages
  • Manage digital magazines, view books and micro-sites (such as the Fierce Advocate Blog, Justice Matters Magazine, various conference websites)
  • Create web forms for most JJC departments that accept Credit Card payments
  • Promote college events on both the main JJC homepage; external webpages, via RSS feeds and on digital posters throughout the College
  • Oversee intranet content and create internal faculty and staff related websites
  • Manage an array of webservers
  • Oversee content on digital posters, kiosks, and elevator displays
  • Manage the General Announcement email promotion to the campus community 
  • Coordination with other administrative units to provide strategic direction and/or support for marketing and promotional activities on the web
  • Promotion and coordination of college special events on the web
