If I wasn't an Academic Advisor I would have been a family therapist or developmental psychologist.
My major in college was Human Services and Community Justice and I chose it because of its diverse course offerings in areas such as counseling, psychology, and politics. It was important to me to gain a well-rounded understanding of how individuals and their communities influence and shape one another.
The top three life skills that I learned while in college are:
1) Adaptability: learning to navigate change and uncertainty
2) Self-awareness: understanding your values, patterns, and growth areas through real-world experiences.
3) Emotional intelligence: developing empathy, active listening, and the ability to connect authentically with others.
My favorite quote is:
I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do. (Edward Everett Hale)
If my life had a theme song it would be Bad Girls by M.I.A.
