Born in France, Roxane Revon studied philosophy at the Sorbonne University in Paris and Roma II in Italy (MA). She then continued her education with certifications from Yales School of Drama ("A practical approach to directing) and Stanford GSB (Ignite program) in the US.
Since 2014, she has served as an adjunct lecturer at John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY), where she has taught a wide range of courses in Communication & Theater Arts, English, and Interdisciplinary Studies departments. Her teaching spans Acting I & II, Improvisational Theater, Directing, Justice in Theater, and Theater History from Ancient Greece to Restoration, among others. She has also directed numerous student productions of classical and contemporary plays such as The Just Assassins by Camus, Don Juan by Moliere, Rhinoceros by Ionesco, Love and Information by C. Churchill, mentoring emerging artists through the entire creative process—from concept and text analysis to rehearsal and performance. She also teaches Commedia Dell'Arte as as a guest artist at Columbia University in Pascale Crepon's French Theater class.
A professional award winning stage director, scenographer and a visual artist she worked with companies such as Actors Studio PD Unit, Subpoetics, United Solo Festival (awarded in 2019), Opera on the James, Dell'Arte opera, Roots & Wings theatrical, Sarasota Ballet, and ATNY, a company she co-founded in 2015 in NYC. Her adaptation of Lorenzaccio by Musset performed by Patric Madden has been awarded “Best Adaptation” in 2019 at the United Solo Festival. Her recent scenographic work includes Puccini’s Madame Butterfly (2025) and Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte (2022), directed by Isabelle Melinski and produced by Opera in Williamsburg at the Kimball Theater in Virginia; the interdisciplinary project Rhizomes (2024), a collaborative performance series with choreographer Thierry Thieû Niang commissioned by L’Alliance NY, Villa Albertine & LLS in New York; and Jessica Lang’s ballet Shades of Spring, commissioned by the Sarasota Ballet that premiered at The Joyce Theater in 2022. These projects exemplify my dedication to cross-disciplinary creation, ecological awareness (I used mainly reused materials, mycelium and projections), and the fusion of visual and performative storytelling. Her director's credits include: Madwomen by Giraudoux, Jeu de Massacre by Ionesco, Dindonby Feydeau, Les Precieuses Ridicules by Molière, La Nuit de Valogne by E.E Schmit (2015-2020) produced by ATNY at the Theater for a new city ; The Madwoman of Chaillot by J. Giraudoux (2015) presented by the Actors Studio PD Unit ; the first American production of Jean-Luc Lagarce’s Music-Hall, produced by Diffractions at the Roy Arias Studio Theatre (2014) ; No Exit by Sartre, produced by Lauren Rayner Productions, performed at the first live-streaming festival Wired arts Fest (2013) and in South of France.
