The 6th annual Beyond the Bars Conference will take place March 4-6, 2016 at Columbia University. This year’s conference, Connecting the Struggles, aims to connect the many ways in which mass incarceration has impacted individuals, families and communities across the U.S, and beyond, as well as build connections across diverse struggles for social justice.

John Jay College Report on American Justice Summit Spotlights Criminal Justice Reform Movement

The American Justice Summit 2016

Tina Brown Live Media, in association with John Jay College ofCriminal Justice and the Ford Foundation today announced the second annual American Justice Summit. The Summit will feature panels, conversations and performances that explore the urgent need for American justice and prison system reform. Gun control and gun culture, juvenile incarceration, immigrant detention, and the state of policing in America are some of the issues to be addressed. The American Justice Summit will take place on Friday, January 29th, 2016, 9am - 5pm, in the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, 524 West 59th Street, New York, NY.
