Program Overview

Why wait, Start College Now!

Programmatic Feasibility
Schools seeking to participate in College Now courses should take into account the programmatic requirements of participation. All classes – whether high school credit or college-credit bearing – meet during the after school hours or Saturday mornings.

John Jay's College Now courses meet either once a week or twice a week from 4:30 PM to 6:45 PM or on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Student Academic Skill Levels
John Jay’s College Now program is designed to meet the diverse academic needs and interests of high school students. While admission requirements vary depending on the type of course (i.e., high school or college), students participating in college-credit classes (waiver and cohort) must obtain skills certification. Also, students are required to make a serious commitment to attend classes and complete their assignments.

College Now Orientation
College Now orientation is required for all enrolled students. Orientation is designed to acquaint students with the College Now program as well as the expectations of the college classroom.  Additionally, students will have the chance to meet fellow students, program faculty, and the College Now staff at John Jay College.
