Dr. Ryba completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, with a concentration in Psychology and Law, at the University of Alabama in 2004 and accepted a position in the Psychology Department at John Jay College of Criminal Justice immediately following completion of her degree. Her clinical and research interests fall primarily within the realm of criminal forensic assessment and standards of practice in forensic psychology. Current research projects focus on assessment of competency to stand trial for juvenile offenders, detecting malingering in competency evaluations, and evaluating the validity and usefulness of published forensic assessment instruments. Dr. Ryba has worked within county, state, and federal facilities providing clinical and forensic treatment and evaluation for juvenile and adult offenders.
