Readmit Undergraduate NYPD Leadership Students

Returning students recently accepted for readmission for the Fall 2017 semester are encouraged to complete the steps below to register for classes:

ACTIVATE CUNYFIRST ACCOUNT:  All students are to register online via CUNYfirst.  CUNYfirst gives students access to register for classes, view financial aid, view schedule and grades, etc.  To access CUNYfirst, you are required to activate your account by clicking here and clicking on “New User” and following the prompts.  Once you successfully complete this process, an 8-digit EMPL ID (CUNY ID) will be generated.  Your EMPL ID will be used in lieu of your social security number.

REGISTER FOR CLASSES:  Prior to selecting your courses, please review the course outline listed below.  Students may receive permission to take courses out of sequence by contacting NYPDprogram@jjay.cuny.edu.  The required courses are ANT 130 and PSC 135.  Students are also required to select one of the following courses CRJ 321, LAW 313 and HIS 214.  

To begin registering, refer to the schedule below and conduct the following steps:

  • Log into CUNYfirst via https://home.cunyfirst.cuny.edu
  • From the Enterprise Menu, select the “HR/Campus solutions” link
  • Click on “student center” (located on the first row under “self service”, 2nd rubric)
  • On the page in the section, click the “enroll” link
  • Select the term “Fall 2017”
  • Click “continue”
  • Enter the 5-digit class number within the “enter class” Nbr box
  • Click “enter”
  • Click “next”
  • To add another class, enter the 5-digit class number for the next class, then click the “proceed to step 2 of 3” button
  • Verify that the classes are correct.  If they are correct, click the “finish enrolling” button
  • You may view your schedule by clicking on “my class schedule”

EMAIL ACCOUNT SETUP:  Click here to access your John Jay student email account.  John Jay College will be communicating with you using your new John Jay email account.  You may also forward your John Jay emails to your personal email or change your “primary” email on CUNYfirst. If you are experiencing technical difficulties, please contact the Help Desk at 212-237-8200.  You will receive information regarding picking up your textbooks via email, 5 – 7 days prior to the start of classes.  Students who did not activate their John Jay student email may not receive the textbook information.

TRANSCRIPTS:  Please be sure to provide any additional transcripts to the Office of Testing and Evaluation at 524 West 59th Street, Room L.71.01.  If you have any questions regarding transcripts and/or credits, please contact the Testing and Evaluation Office at 212-237-8108.  Please expect 2 - 3 weeks for all transcripts to be evaluated.    

ACADEMIC ADVISEMENT CENTERYou are not required to seek advisement for courses within the NYPD Leadership Program.  Once all transcripts have been submitted and evaluated, and you wish to register for courses outside of the Leadership Program, please contact Liz Bracey in the Academic Advisement Center at 212-393-6006 or ebracey@jjay.cuny.edu for academic advising.
