My major is Law and Society and I chose it because I love learning about the law and how it effects people.  When I first started at John Jay, I was a Political Science major.  I soon realized that although I enjoyed the content of the political science classes, I felt that the information was similar to things I learned in my high school history courses.  When I started exploring my options, I stumbled across Law and Society.  This major was more interdisciplinary and allowed me to take classes from all different fields: Anthropology, Sociology, Philiosophy, and Law/Political Science to understand law from the perspective of culture and its impact on communities.

Dream Career: a travel blogger.

The top three life skills that I've learned in college:
1) Time management is key!  It can often feel like there are a billion things happening between classes, work, and life in general.  It's good to prioritize and make note of deadlines so you don't overwhelm yourself.
2) Take initiative!  This skill applies both inside and outside the classroom.  Putting yourself out there helps you gain more knowledge, insight, and confidence in yourself and your abilities.
3) Be open to meeting new people!  You'll meet some of the greatest people throughout your college career that will become mentors and close friends to help you through the toughest of times.

My favorite book is:
Any book from the Harry Potter series.

If my life had a theme song it would be How Far I'll Go from Moana.
