Guidelines for Submission
Journal of African American Studies (ISSN 1081-1753) is published by Transaction Periodicals Consortium quarterly in collaboration with the Department of Sociology, John Jay College of Criminal Justice. JAAS publishes theoretical and empirical manuscripts related to issues affecting persons of African descent. It is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary journal. Article submissions, book reviews, commentaries, research notes and editorial correspondence should be addressed to:

Manuscripts should include an abstract and a brief biography and should conform to the guidelines in the style manual of the American Psychological Association. Notes, tables and figures should be supplied on pages separate from the text; figures should be in camera-ready form.
