Antonio (Jay) Pastrana, Jr. earned his doctorate in Sociology at The Graduate Center, CUNY. A native of New York City, he joined the Sociology Department in 2008. His research interests are in Latina/o Studies, sexualities, race, and human rights. He received the Ford Foundation Award to support work on his dissertation, "Navigating the Intersectional Imagination: Race, Sexuality, and Power." Jay is published in Encyclopedia of Race and Racism, Blackwell Encyclopedia of Sociology, Hispanic Journal of Behavioral Sciences, and Race, Gender & Class.
