Marla Dominguez is the Program Counselor at Upward Bound. Marla has been involved with various non-profits that help first-generation, low-income high school students. Prior to Upward Bound, she worked as a Recruitment Specialist at Philadelphia Futures where she assisted with the admissions process. She also worked as an Administrative Assistant at Educational Talent Search where she helped with pre-college programming. As a first-generation student herself, Marla understands the difficulties that come with the college application process. She holds a BA in History from Haverford College. Marla is able to assist with college applications and essay writing.
Michelle Bravo is a first-generation college student and a former Upward Bound student and has been involved with the program since 2012. Michelle is a recent transfer student and a junior at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She majoring in Criminology with a minor in Psychology. Before transferring to John Jay, she studied Criminal Justice at State University at Fredonia for two years. She was on this semester's Dean's List and is ready to tutor you in English and Biology.
Carlos Rodriguez is a tutor at Upward Bound. Carlos has been involved with Upward Bound since his freshmen year. He is currently a junior at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. For many years, Carlos has been helping first-generations, low-income students. He has gone to South Africa with the YMCA to help low-income children by building a school for them. He is currently chasing his dream to graduate college and change the world. He is able to tutor in English and Biology.
Favio Yepes is a tutor at Upward Bound. Favio is currently enrolled at Fordham University. He is majoring in Mathematics and concentrating in Chaos Theory. He can tutor in SAT Math prep and all high school level mathematics.
Shauchiela Vieira is currently enrolled at CUNY John Jay College. She is majoring in Criminology. She is available to tutor in Math and English
