If I wasn't an Academic Advisor I would have been working with either the FBI or FDIC as a forensic accountant, working alongside other employees, and helping to link and to trace money that is being funneled and laundered.

My major in college was Fraud Examination & Financial Forensics and I chose it because it was a fairly new major being offered at John Jay and also because I think that accounting is a core part of any business.

The top three life skills that I learned while in college are:
1) It's all about how you perceive things - negative mindsets lead to negative actions and negative results.
2) Although complaining may be a human instinct, being grateful for what you have goes a long way.
3) Ability to laugh at myself - having an optimistic personality gives you the confidence to push through even life's hardest struggles, reflect, and most importantly, gives you the opportunity to forgive yourself.

My favorite book is:
What I need is the dandelion in the spring.  The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction.  The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses.  That it can be good again. (Suzanne Collins)

If my life had a theme song it would be It Was a Good Day by Ice Cube.
