CUNY-Wide Policies for Faculty & Staff Traveling with Students Abroad
The John Jay College Office of International Studies & Programs welcomes all faculty and staff who are looking for creative ways in which to get involved in the College’s goal for internationalization. The Office not only helps advise students, but also faculty and staff who engage in activities such as study abroad, international conferences, embedded course trips, service learning, and site visits.
The Office of International Studies & Programs staff are available to help you navigate through the procedures to launch your international programs and activities!
Any faculty or staff who wish to travel internationally with students must submit a detailed proposal template in the CUNY International Travel Guidelines (pdf.), which begins on page 19. This proposal and travel waivers are irreplaceable as they inform faculty and staff of legal implications and the indemnity offered by the University.
More details on general polices, please consult the CUNY International Travel Guidelines (pdf.). Please schedule an appointment to meet with Mr. Ken Yanes, Deputy Director of International Studies & Programs (firstname.lastname@example.org, 212-484-1339, Haaren Hall 530), for assistance at least 30 days before proposed travel dates.
