Success Teams

First Year Seminar students are supported by a success team, comprised of a peer success coach, academic advisor, and career specialist.  The goal of the success teams is to support first year students’ effective transition to college through individualized coaching, academic planning and advising, exploration of career options, and development of a supportive network on campus.

As a first year seminar faculty member, you have the opportunity to collaborate with these staff members in and outside of the classroom. Review this checklist for ideas about how to incorporate your students’ team into your course plans.

You will receive a copy of your success teams assignments and this Success Teams Guide before the semester begins.  You or your peer success coach should distribute this information to students in the first couple weeks of class.
