Welcome John Jay Transfer Students!
Congratulations on choosing an award-winning CUNY college to finish your baccalaureate degree!
We are so happy you are here and want you to know that we are committed to making your transition to John Jay College and your remaining stay here as stress-free and fun as possible. We are here to help you navigate every step of your academic journey.
You will be eligible to register for classes upon completion of your transfer credit evaluation. Once this process is completed, information about next steps will be emailed to you from the John Jay Admissions Office.
This communication will include instructions on how to activate your CUNYfirst account and self-register for courses, as well as information on how to access academic advisement assistance.
BEFORE You receive communication that your credits have been evaluated:
Review the Newly Accepted Transfer Student Checklist - http://www.jjay.cuny.edu/newly-accepted-transfer-students
This checklist outlines steps that you need to take in order to confirm your enrollment and begin the process of becoming a John Jay College student.
Steps such as submitting a seat deposit and your immunization records to the College are required before registration can begin.
AFTER You receive communication that your credits have been evaluated:
Your transfer credits will be viewable on your CUNYfirst student account and you may begin the academic advising and registration process once you have submitted your immunization records. You are encouraged to register as soon as possible so that you will have the largest selection of courses to choose from.
To sign up for an appointment with an Academic Advisor, please access AdvisorTrac and choose a time that works for you. Please note, you must activate your John Jay email in order to use AdvisorTrac.
