Every year, hundreds of exceptionally talented students who aspire to make a difference in society join the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Once they come to John Jay they are challenged, inspired and prepared for a lifetime of meaning and significance.
With a rigorous curriculum across the humanities, natural sciences, arts and social sciences, we offer our students a range of opportunities to explore their academic interests and passions. At John Jay, we place special emphasis on developing students’ critical reasoning skills, intellectual abilities and competencies, and enhancing their capacity to make a difference as fierce advocates for justice.
Life at John Jay
We believe in learning beyond the classroom and coursework. We foster leadership development, cultural awareness, personal growth and civic responsibility throughout our campus. As a result we have an incredibly vibrant, engaged and supportive college community. Our students socialize on the lawn of the college’s 60,000-square-foot rooftop plaza and watch new student productions in John Jay’s Black Box Theatre. They participate in a cultural and sporting activities and events, such as the JJ Bloodhound Trailblazers Leadership Series, a student government and over 40 student organizations and clubs.
What we offer at John Jay is not just a formal academic degree. We instill in our students the skills, insights and knowledge needed to explore, challenge and change the world. We want our students to be the very best they can be, which we believe is the true value of a John Jay education.
