Accreditation in the United States is a peer-reviewed process of accountability and quality assurance in higher education.

Middle States Commission on Higher Education

John Jay College of Criminal Justice is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Any individual may file a complaint with the Middle States Commission by following the procedure found on their website complaint page.  

John Jay College of Criminal Justice most recently received reaffirmation of accreditation in 2013 and the most recent Mid-Point Peer Review was conducted with in 2019. Our next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2022-2023.

 

Specialized Accreditation  

The Master of Public Administration program is accredited by the Commission on Peer Review and Accreditation of the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA).

The Master of Science Degree in Forensic Science is accredited by the Forensic Science Education Program Accreditation Commission (FEPAC).
