Bio

Katherine Arnoldi, Ph. D., a 2008-9 Fulbright Fellow to Paraguay, is happy to assist students with Fulbright proposals and applications. Her areas of interest include the literature of the Cold War period, globalization and post-colonial issues, contemporary African novels and films and identity and community in North American contemporary literature.

Winner of the Juniper Prize in Fiction, University of Massachusetts and finalist for the Ohio University Short Fiction Prize.

The Amazing True Story of a Teenage Single Mom, Hyperion, 1998.

Winner of two American Library Awards, nominated for the Will Eisner, named one of the Top Ten Books of the Year by Entertainment Weekly, and optioned by the Kennedy Marshall Company (Bourne Identity, Indiana Jones, Munich, Seabiscuit) for a film version. Arnoldi appeared on The Today Show, The Nightly News, CNN’s Entertainment Today and many other venues as a result of this book. Articles and reviews appeared in The New York Times, MS, Redbook, American Book Review, Bust, Seventeen, Elle, New York, Christian Science Monitor, Associated Press, Book Report, Publisher’s Weekly, Entertainment Weekly and many other publications.

Katherine Arnoldi has also published many non-fiction and fiction texts in anthologies and journals, such as Literarian, Fiction, The Quarterly, The World, Long Shot, Rhubarb, Red Tape, Tribes, Blue Collar Review, The Great Women Cartoonists (Watson-Guptill),  and the anthologies, You Look too Young to Be a Mom (Penguin), Essential Hip MaMa (Seal Press) and Five Minute Fiction (Story Press).
