Registration for Fall 2023 will begin on April 17. Take the following steps now to be ready to register for your Fall 2023 classes.
Check Your Enrollment Date
Determine the earliest date and time you can register.
- Undergraduate students will be assigned appointments to start registering between April 17 and 24.
- After April 10, you can check the Course Planning and Enrollment Tile in your CUNYfirst Student Center for the specific date and time when you can start registration.
- Your registration appointment is the earliest time you can complete the registration process, but you can place courses in your shopping cart now. You can also go back and add/change at a later time.
Check for Holds
Check CUNYfirst for any holds (Advisement, Bursar, etc.) that prevent you from registering.
- Find your holds in CUNYFirst by clicking on the Tasks and Holds tile in your Student Center. Click on the Hold or Task for more information and instructions on how to resolve it.
- If you have a BUR hold, click on your Financial Account tile to view your Account Balance.
- If you need additional information on how to cover your tuition balance or have outstanding items to submit for your financial aid, contact Jay Express.
- Please note that holds can take up to 2 weeks to clear after submitting payment or paperwork.
Plan Your Schedule
Log into CUNYFirst to see what classes will be offered and start planning your schedule.
- Enroll in 15 credits for the fall or plan to take summer classes so you can stay on track for graduation. Summer 2023 registration is already open.
- To easily identify the courses and requirements, you still need to refer to your academic degree audit (degree works). To review your audit with an advisor, visit the Academic Advisement Center's virtual drop-in hours.
Want to speak to an advisor?
- Have an ADV (mandatory advisement) hold: students with an ADV hold on their Student Center Page are required to see an advisor prior to registration. You should have already been contacted by your advisor about setting up an appointment.
- Need major advisement: to track your progress in the major and learn more about major requirements, speak with your major advisor!
- SEEK students: email seek@jjay.cuny.edu to schedule an appointment.
- All other students: book an advising appointment through Navigate by clicking the blue "Schedule an Appointment" button on the right-hand side of the student homepage.
