Immunization

New John Jay College students born on or after January 1, 1957, as a part of our commitment to your health and safety, the New York State Public Health Laws require all new college students to provide proof of immunization for measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR). To better understand the requirements, we recommend that you take a moment to read the materials provided by the Health Center. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're here to help you navigate this process and ensure a safe and healthy college experience. Our Health Services Center offers free MMR vaccinations to students.

Meningitis

The Student Health Center also provides students with information on meningococcal meningitis disease and vaccine.

  • New Meningitis Requirement In July 2003, Governor Pataki enacted a New York State law that requires all college students to be educated about meningococcal meningitis disease and to sign a reply form stating that you have been vaccinated within the last ten years; or have received information about the disease and have chosen not to be vaccinated.

Information about meningitis disease and the available vaccine is mailed to all students.

We do not offer the vaccine at the College nor is it available at any of the NYC Department of Health clinics.

  • Purchasing Meningitis Vaccination You should speak to your own health provider if you wish to be vaccinated. You may obtain the vaccine for $85.00 at: Medical Associates of Wall Street 156 William Street New York, NY 212.233.3040

Students without health insurance should inquire in the Wellness Center for an area clinic offering the meningitis vaccine.
