October 31 Deadline for summer/fall graduates to pay their tuition in full and apply for graduation in CUNYfirst.

March 31 Deadline for winter/spring graduates to pay their tuition in full and apply for graduation in CUNYfirst. | Deadline for summer 2026 graduates to pay their spring tuition in full.

May 1 Deadline to register for summer classes and apply for graduation in CUNYfirst if you have two summer courses or LESS to participate in the spring commencement ceremony.

July 31 Deadline to apply for graduation in CUNYfirst and pay tuition in full if you have MORE than two summer courses to participate in the following spring commencement ceremony.

Thornton Studios: Order graduation portraits

You can take graduation portraits at www.ThorntonStudio.com using Code: 02693. Graduating students have the option between taking their portraits on campus or in the studio. Please refer to the respective instructions below. If a student has a question, please contact the studio directly at info@ThorntonStudio.com.

On Campus:

January 28th, 29th, 30th
February 2nd 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th
February 9th, 10th, 11th & 13th

10am - 2pm & 3pm - 6pm
Outside of Black Box Theater
(L2 of NB near 11th Avenue)

OakHall: Order your cap and gown

Students must wear a cap and gown to enter the Commencement venue and participate in the ceremony: https://oakhallcg.com/pages/johnjay

The deadline to purchase regalia is April 27, 2026.

Balfour: Order your class ring

Commemorate your time at John Jay with a customized ring from Balfour! Check out your options in person from 12:00pm - 6:00pm in the Kroll Atrium (NB):
