ISP Ambassadors

Who are the ISP Ambassadors?

The ambassadors are four friendly, accomplished and experienced ISP students who will welcome you to our program in the beginning of the semester and continue to support you throughout. The ambassadors’ mission is to help new students feel at home in ISP, familiarize them with our teaching style and help strengthen our community. For that purpose, the ambassadors organize a welcome lunch and different Community Hour events and workshops during the semester.

Hello!  I’m Micayla Williams-McCree (micayla.williams-mccree@jjay.cuny.edu).  I am majoring in Forensic Psychology with a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies.  As an out-of-state student from Detroit, I can testify that ISP has truly been a home-away-from-home.  The close-knit community within the program has helped me form long-lasting friendships and create strong connections with professors, who are not only mentors but also advocates for students' success. Being in ISP has been instrumental in building my confidence and my ability to problem-solve and think critically. I believe ISP accurately represents John Jay's commitment to creating meaningful change by shaping students into fierce advocates for change.

Hi, my name is Zamama Hanif (zamama.hanif@jjay.cuny.edu).  I’m currently a junior at John Jay majoring in Criminology with minors in anthropology and ISP. I’m also pursuing a certificate in Dispute Resolution. ISP has been one of the best things I’ve been able to be apart of and participate because of the amount of opportunities and growth it offers with the help of professors and advisors. ISP classes in general have been my favorite because they’re so welcoming and inclusive, making it easier to digest the knowledge being presented. Becoming an ISP ambassador allows me to be apart of the welcoming of the incoming graduate class, and be a helping hand when needed!

Hi! My name is Aylasia Hill (aylasia.hill@jjay.cuny.edu).  I am joining the ambassadors’ team this fall. I am currently a junior majoring in  Criminal Justice with a minor in ISP.  Some fun facts about me: I love theater and my favorite color is pink.

Hello! My name is Francisca Owusu (francisca.owusu@jjay.cuny.edu). I am a sophomore studying Criminal Justice with a minor in ISP.  I am also joining the ambassadors’ team this fall and I am very excited about it!  One thing I enjoy about being in the ISP program is the interesting readings we do in our classes, as well as the discussions that follow. These discussions have helped me gain different perspectives and learn from my classmates.
